The Southwest Georgia AIDS Information Outreach Project
SOWEGA-AHEC

Just because someone has HIV/AIDS doesn't mean that life cannot be good. Thanks to advances in medicine, people today have more treatment options and stay healthier and live longer than ever before. The outlook is improving every day. Dealing with HIV and all the changes it can make in one's life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and although medical treatment is important, it's only one aspect of good health.

We've compiled a listing of resources in Southwest Georgia for the kind of help and information most often needed by caregivers or those living with HIV/AIDS. We also listed key state and national web sites. Whether you're newly diagnosed, a long-term survivor, or a caregiver, these resources will help you stay up-to-date on treatments and ways to successfully live with HIV, and to continue leading a normal life.

This project is supported with funding from the National Library of Medicine (467-M2-101937).

* Thanks to Health District 8-2 for contibuting key contact information to this project for the 14 counties in District 8-2.
