These sites are useful for finding medical information on the
Web, as opposed to search engines and indices used for finding for all
types of information.
- Medical Matrix
- A premier index to medical information available on the web. Well-organized
and easy to navigate.
- Doctor's Guide to the
Internet
- This site lists medical resources on the Internet specifically for
the physician. Information on conferences, new drugs, and new Web sites
of interest are available, as well as a virtual medical bookstore.
- Health On the Net Foundation
- MedHunt, Health on the Net [HON]'s search engine, lists reviewed sites
(when available). Topics may be searched by keyword.
- Medscape
- Pharmaceutical information, a career center, a bookstore and a CME
locator are among the features of this site. Information organized by
medical specialty is available.
- Medical World Search
- The site allows the user to search for a topic among "major medical
websites," the National Library of Medicine's PubMed interface
to MEDLINE, or commercial web search engines. A useful place to start
a comprehensive search for medical information.
- American Hospital Directory
- Comparative statistics and information is available for most hospitals
in the U.S. Hospitals can be searched by region or city. Information
includes # of beds, contact information, services provided, etc.
